I have never had a Gas Credit Card and have American Express for Costco and Visa for the others. No annual fee, cash back and paid off every month! Buy the cheapest gas in your area OR use a grocery chain store Rewards Card for their gas station that offers up to 10 cents off per gallon with a $100 purchase per month in the store. Whatever the size or shape of the vehicle, Produce and ‘Drive’ vehicles with high MPG, are very reliable, have a ‘reasonable’ cost and a good ‘value’ for the money. The price of fuel at the pump is too high! 12/22/2012!

Credit card companies like American Express, Visa & Mastercard want to give you credit and just wait for something unexpected to happen to you and then slam you to the wall with late charges, interest, etc. I think it is best to pay in cash and leave these vultures alone

spend $1000 on my card & get $0.10cL off gas.
so i pay my bills with the card & then immediately pay the card back online. one extra step paying my bills online but very simple to save me a few bucks.

Don't use them. There are cards out there that give you cash back for useing them to buy gas.( Bank of America Visa for example.)

To use a gas card for gasoline purchases is not worth the cost of the postage I would have to pay for the few gallons purchased. Maybe for someone driving hundreds of miles a day.

I tried using a Shell card at a Jiffy Lube today and it was not accepted, even though there is a Jiffy Lube logo on the back of the card. It works fine at Shell stations.

This is a good reason to use a card. You're paying for the privilege anyway.

Hey...no one holds a gun to your head to get a credit card. Pay cash if you don't like the terms.

If you can't pay them off every month the rewards are only bait to rake the money out of your pocket.
