I love articles like these. Love to see that states are actually trying to save money instead of wasting it. Nice post.

While there are two stations with CNG available in Nevada I doubt that it will take off anytime soon as only a few fleets are using it.

If all 20 succeed, maybe many more States and the Feds will join them. This would reduce the demand for gasoline a bunch as well as a demand for crude oil. This would put us on the road to energy independence in the USA.

I think this is a great idea. The more we can use CNG-powered vehicles, then the less dependent we will be on OPEC's oil.

I would love to see these vehicles everywhere.
I would love it more to see CNG conversions available for all vehicles like they were back in the '80's.

I think this is a mistake as it will cause natural gas prices to rise. Rising natural gas prices will cause electricity prices to raise (at least in the western states).

Are you nuts? The car makers already have them. They just ddon't sell them here. The only one here is Honda Civic GX, I think. There are some issues with actually finding a place to fill up.

Good, I hope it works ... but how much would it costs taxpayer for the contract and for how many vehicles would that be??? Is it worth it??? For example if it's going to cost $70K per CNG-auto then scrap the deal. Would you want to pay 7 Million contract for 100 cars ...??? Just buy a $13-$15K Ford car ...

I agree with ericbcire. We have to build the infrastructure, but the automakers have to get a vehicle on the market very soon.
